Diamond Spray and Chromium Oxide
We include a swatch of bovine with both our diamond spray and chromium oxide compounds

Our diamond sprays are calibrated and filled by a professional lab with over 25 years of experience in the field of industrial diamond and abrasives. There are several reasons why we don't mix and fill our own sprays.

Electrical charges found in water will react with electrical charges in diamond particles and cause the particles to clump together. For most people particle clumping is not a issue given the micron sizes that we deal with. On the other hand we work with customers who polish blades and their edges to very high levels. Should a group of half micron particles clump they would accumulate into a larger particle size which may result in scratching or uneven edges.

Our lab has the equipment todeionize and purify water to prevent particle clumping. In addition, an agent is included to guarantee that the particles maintain the appropriate electrical balance to guarantee clumping will not occur.

In addition, our lab has the equipment required to guarantee that each bottle of spray contains exactly the carat weight indicated on the bottle. I buy things too,  I have an obligation to make sure that you get what you paid for.

Now, 21 carat of diamond is 21 carat whether it is in a four ounce bottle or eight ounce bottle. The only difference is the concentration - the smaller the bottle the greater the concentration.  The small difference in price between our 4 and 8 ounce bottles is based on the bottle cost.

You may be interested in knowing that a four ounce bottle will provide a minimum of 850 spritzes. A typical initial charge on material that is 3x11 inches will require 6 - 10 spritzes. Recharging would require 3 - 4 spritzes and how often you recharge would depend on how often you hone blades. The math would depend on your personal use, but by and large you can rely on well over two hundred applications per four ounce bottle.

Our diamond particles are mono crystalline in shape as opposed to polycrystalline. A mono crystalline is less jagged and will leave a more polished edge on a blade. I like if for use on straight razors as it produces what I call a 'soft' edge. By that I mean the razor is more polished and less likely to abrade the skin. After shave is the true test for whether you have a soft or toothy edge.

Our Chromium oxide is 99.9% pure and comes directly from the same USA manufacturer that we've purchased from since 1994. This product is packed and/or mixed by us, you can search the world over and not find better. Our liquid/semi paste is guaranteed to be a minimum of 75% chromium oxide, however we do push it higher.

Our chromium oxide particle size is guaranteed to be 0.3 - 0.5 micron which is an acceptable range in the industry.

Our new twist caps for the liquid make it a lot easier to apply the semi paste and keep things neat. There is a myriad of uses for this product. It can be applied to anything from card board and card stock, leather, wooden slips either flat or formed.
